We love secondhand clothing, we celebrate handmade items and anything that comes close to being natural. In this space, we rethink our clothing from a perspective of creativity and joy.
We love secondhand clothing, handmade items, and fine materials. This space is for looking in your closet, daring to try new things, asking questions, and feeling proud of that favorite T-shirt or those inherited pants that, even if they don’t match, have their own history and value.
At RePilcha, clothes are not just clothes. Sometimes they are memories, other times companions, and often, refuge. What we wear says something about us, our stories, what we have experienced, what we want to take care of. And although we don’t always have all the answers, here we celebrate every attempt, every question, and every little joy of dressing in our own way.
RePilcha is a platform for redefining sustainable fashion in Chile. We don’t lecture here: we share questions, resources, micro-actions, and stories so that together we can explore what it means to dress with meaning. We don’t follow rigid rules; here, the idea is to rethink ourselves, inspire each other, and dare to look at clothing from a different perspective, one that is closer and more real.
We are driven by the idea of exploring, together, what it really means to dress with meaning. We believe that there is no single “right” way to do this, so at RePilcha it’s all about looking at clothes (and ourselves) from a closer, more honest, and much more real perspective.
At RePilcha, we believe in the need to build new narratives and ways of communicating sustainability in fashion. We aim to go beyond traditional discourse, generating authentic, relevant conversations that are adapted to our reality. We are committed to communication that connects with everyday experiences, integrating emotions, stories, and reflections that invite us to rethink, in depth and with creativity, the role that fashion plays in our lives.
Want to be inspired?
It all started as a university research project: lots of questions, interviews, and countless conversations with young women in Chile. We wanted to go beyond slogans and truly understand how we live and feel sustainable fashion in our daily lives.
Along the way, strong emotions arose. Yes, there was pride and motivation, but also frustration, doubts, and that common feeling that “sustainability” is something distant, difficult, or simply alien to our reality.
That’s how RePilcha was born: a space created to question and discuss sustainability, circularity, or whatever you want to call it. A place where we reflect on the value we place on our clothes and encourage ourselves to look fondly at the local, the imperfect, and the shared.
The name combines the idea of “re-”: rethinking, reinterpreting, rediscovering.
And “pilcha.”
From the Mapuche pulcha, meaning “wrinkle.”
1. Item of clothing, particularly if it is elegant and expensive.
2. Poor or worn-out item of clothing.
We loved it because pilcha is a word that can mean many things at once: elegant clothing, old clothing, clothing with history, that “beloved” pilcha with a very high value of its own.
That’s why we added the “re-”: because here we like to redefine, relearn, and reimagine.
Bringing sustainable and circular fashion closer to people's real lives. We want to open up spaces for dialogue, reflection, and creativity, so that together we can transform the way we relate to what we wear and value in our daily lives.
Change begins by celebrating the everyday and enjoying the process, without fear of laughing at our own attempts.
There are no magic formulas or universal recipes, just the desire to invent, adapt, and transform what we already have, in our own way.
Here, every voice matters. Every question, every experience, and every story contributes and builds community.
We highlight both achievements and contradictions. There is no such thing as perfect sustainability, but there are many ways to start and continue learning.
